WordPress and WooCommerce
Plugin architecture, order and product data, HPOS, hooks that other developers build on, and the invoicing, payment and fulfilment workflows that show up after a store goes live.
That second half is the part most people skip, and it's the reason code I shipped in 2020 is still running on thousands of sites today.
I grew up in Sari, on Iran's Caspian coast, where I still live and work. I taught English for four years while I was learning to build things, and I never entirely stopped doing either.

Amirhossein Hosseinpour is a senior full-stack engineer and founder who has been building for the web since 2015. He works deep in the WordPress and WooCommerce stack, from plugin architecture and HPOS-compatible data handling to caching, database load and server configuration, and extends that with Node.js, React, Python automation and native macOS development in Swift. He co-founded Pepro Dev, whose open-source plugins are installed on thousands of sites and are still shipping releases six years on, founded BlackSwan Development as his open-source label, led technical development at Pepro Studio, and is now co-founder and lead developer at Pigment Dev and head of development at Pigment Agency. Before and alongside engineering he taught English for four years and holds an MA in teaching it, which shows in how he documents and supports his work. He works remotely from Iran with teams across four continents.
// what-i-do
Most of my work sits in one of three places, and most projects cross at least two of them.
// below the theme
Plugin architecture, order and product data, HPOS, hooks that other developers build on, and the invoicing, payment and fulfilment workflows that show up after a store goes live.
// underneath
Caching, object caching, PHP configuration, database load, web server config, CDN rules, backups and monitoring. This is usually where I get called when something is slow or falling over, and it's rarely one setting.
// beside it
A macOS menu bar app, a Swift networking tool, a Node and React application, a Cloudflare Worker, a Telegram bot. These are small on purpose. Each one solves a single problem I actually had.
// career.log
Every role since 2015, drawn from the year it started. Green is current, grey has ended. Open a row for what came out of it.
A WordPress plugin studio, and where most of my time goes. Shipped Ultimate Integration for Telegram and Gravity Forms OTP Verification, and built the licensing layer behind our commercial products: HMAC-SHA256, domain-locked rotating tokens and plan tiers.
Technical direction across client projects. Moved twelve production sites from cPanel to a single HestiaCP VPS with a documented, repeatable checklist, and built the Cloudflare Worker that monitors them.
A WordPress and WooCommerce plugin team I co-founded and still work with: free plugins on WordPress.org and Pro plugins for sale. Ultimate Invoice, our largest, is on 5,000+ sites.
My open-source label. macOS and Windows utilities, browser add-ons, and the plugins that did not fit anywhere else. TunnelGuard, a macOS split-tunnel manager, shipped under it this year, and so did KeepMeUp, a menu bar app that keeps the Mac awake and takes commands from Telegram, and Hush, which turns audio and video into text offline in Persian and English.
Two years handling 200+ support requests a month, which is where I learned what users actually do with a plugin. Then five years leading technical development of the studio's WordPress products.
Led WordPress development across several startups in the group, including AzKetab, SellerYar, Roozbahan Publication and PTKD.
Built the academy's custom WordPress learning platform for one of Iran's leading marketplace-seller services, and supported the main site.
Taught web design and WordPress e-commerce development to over 30 students. More than 90% earned the official diploma with final scores above 80.
A Persian-language school for WordPress plugin development. An archive now: the free articles are still up, the shop is closed. It did what it was for.
Over 60 completed projects: plugin development, theme customisation, performance work and full builds.
Taught English to over 350 students at A2 to B1 level. Named most active teacher of the year twice.
// teaching-and-language
I mention this because it's the honest answer to a question every remote team has: how well does he communicate, and will anyone else be able to read what he wrote.
I hold an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language and a BA in English Translation, and I taught English to over 350 students before I taught anyone to build a plugin. Later I taught WordPress e-commerce development at Iran's TVTO eLearning Center, where more than 90% of my students earned the official diploma with scores above 80.
I founded Iran WP Academy to teach plugin development in Persian, and I'm a translation editor for Persian on WordPress.org.
// outside-work
I take photographs, badly and constantly, mostly on my phone and mostly around Sari.
I contribute reviews and map data as a Google Maps Local Guide, currently level 6.
I've been writing Firefox add-ons since 2017. Five published, 4.6 average rating.
I'm a co-organizer of SariGap, a small meetup of developers, designers and technical people in my city.
// recommendations
He is responsive, detail-oriented, whip smart, and a pleasure to work with. I recommend him without reservation for any technical needs your business might have.
He is a ninja developer who will amaze you by speed and quality of delivery.

Plugins on thousands of stores, the systems a studio runs on, and a few macOS apps. Each one shipped, documented and still maintained.
