// what-it-does

What it does

Everything a long article needs so readers can find their way and pass it on.

It started as the set of reading tools every blog project asked for. Rather than rebuild them each time, they went into one free plugin with one settings page.

For readers

  • 10 customisable share buttons: floating in four positions, before the content or after it
  • An automatic, hierarchical table of contents, before or after the content
  • Automatic heading numbers, with an anchor id and a link back to the table of contents
  • A floating in-page navigation, on the right or the left
  • A scroll progress bar at the top or the bottom, reversible
  • A button to hide or show the admin bar on the front end
  • Protection against copying the content
  • A custom highlight colour for selected text

For developers

  • Right-to-left ready
  • Works with WooCommerce
  • Supports every public custom post type
  • Hooks to add, edit and remove options and front-end output
  • A hook to see every current setting on the front end
functions.phpThe debug hook: show every current setting on the front end.
add_filter(
  "pepro_blog_assistant/debug_frontend_sections",
  function( $aa, $bb ) { return $bb; },
  10, 2
);

// how-it-was-built

How it was built

PHP and a little JavaScript, on WordPress hooks.

Published by Pepro Dev as free software under the GPL. Developers can change almost everything through hooks instead of editing the plugin.
